Interesting quote - not sure one is more important or better than the other. Can you truly love someone and not trust them?
Can you trust and not have some level of love associated in that feeling?
Trust is giving over to the other person, and there are two types of trust:
trusting them in their actions, their feelings and their "being there"
trusting them with your actions, your feelings and you "being there" for them
